Walking the road of compassion

Description

Walking the road of compassion.
My thoughts.

The Jesus figure represents the essence of what his teachings was. Not the religion we know today. No matter if he walked this earth or not. He’s main teaching was of unconditional love and compassion. No matter how much hate he had to endure.

And this is what we all are striving towards. All the relationships we peruse. All the interaction with other human souls. Either if it is friendship, love or work related. The main driving force behind this is our deep rooted desire to love and practice compassion without prejudice, expectations, judgments, jealousy or greed. But to see this clearly we need the all the other pieces that make up this universe.

The Buddha figure represents another crucial piece. The first “Buddha” (meaning "awakened one" or "the enlightened one) Siddhartha Gautama, wanted to understand the meaning of death and suffering. He had lived almost half his life in luxury and isolation from the rest of the world. He didn’t even know about his own body mortality. This formed his foundation for understanding and for his unquenchable desire to understand “life”. The human body and mind is incredibly adaptable. So if he had been born in different circumstances he would probably not reached the same goals he did.

One of the most important things he came to realize was reincarnation. That this life on earth is not our main existence. This is merely one of many “schools” in our improvement.

Take jealousy, this is a difficult feature to master. In most cases jealousy is just a feature we accept as a human “quality”. But if we think about it, we can clearly see the negativity of this “quality”. And recognize this as a feeling we want an end to. If you have ever tried to put an end to a bad habit, you know how difficult this is. Jealousy is also a bad habit. You can recognize this if you compare it to other superficial bad habits you may possess.

This is an example of where the human adaptability is something to be aware of. It makes us blind to the changes we need to make. One lifetime and one aspect of life is not enough time to overcome all our bad habits. The fact of incarnation is well documented. Thousands of first hand experiences are highly researchable. And if you want to lose your fear of death, see your own soul immortality. You can get your own proof. And make an appointment whit your local regression therapist.

The middle way was also an important discovery Siddhartha came to understand. This is also an aspect of this artwork. To understand the universe and our existence you must have the ability and desire to use all the pieces in the puzzle. And walk the middle way in everything. The middle way always applies. If you get caught up in only one side of things. You will not be able and you will miss crucial information in your improvement. Both in mind and body. Love and hate. Expectations and acceptance. Religion and science. Everything is connected.

Finally the human figure. The human body in my mind is a temporary interactive learning vessel for the soul. So I didn’t want to make this the main focus. Therefore making it blurred and with no personality. Because it represents all souls on earth. And both Siddhartha Gautama and Jesus was not “gods” of any kind, only more vise and advanced souls her on earth to help other souls to progress in love, compassion and understanding of this existence

The words of my sensi exactly,
This piece is a good combination of a range of ideas, I liked how the path is between the two religions leading to the world, which is emphasized more than that which looks like "a fogy sense of order" The etheral shape of a man would follow the stone laden path unto the stars alone without clouded vision had he not chosen a side on which to do so, which is what I gather from this piece, an idea that is seldom seen and even fewer times given as opinion, but one that I may agree with, I don't beleive in religion, or politics, or being of mean spirits, but only to be honest, always.

The only thing I would suggest for this piece that I would have liked to see would be to have the faces of the two religeons in a profile portrait only, since the human body is already shown, it takes away from the importance of man's uniqueness as compared to "gods" when they all look the of same species, but then again, perhaps it was what you were going for?

In that case *applause* =]
